Only 7 more pages until the first draft is complete, yippee :-)

It's almost there. The past few pages have been rough to sit down and write because I just haven't had the time but it's almost done now :-). Then I can take my holiday break.

Still up in the air about what to do with Mojave Rose. I'll visit the Arabella message board from time to time jsut to see if there's been any news and I did read an encouraging post from a gal who contacted the publisher. My heart still tells me that this would make a better full-lenght novel though. I guess I'll just wait it out and see what happens.

It's snowing here today, finally. It's been so gloomy and rainy here lately I was begining to wonder if it will ever begin to look a little more Christmassy. Snow's not sticking yet but even a few sprinkles of the white stuff this time of year is enough to get me in a Christmas mood. Well I'm takin PJ to see Santa so I'd better get going. I'll be sure & post the pics here after we go :-). Happy holidays everyone :-).

Chick Chat from a Gone with the wind girl :-).

GWTW
Darling, it seems that you belong in Gone with the
Wind; the proper place for a romantic. You
belong in a tumultous world of changes and
opportunities, where your independence paves
the road for your survival. It is trying being
both a cynic and a dreamer, no?

Which Classic Novel do You Belong In?
brought to you by Quizilla

I think I would be more Melanie than Scarlett :-).

Questions For Dec. 7th
Naughty Or Nice: What Should Santa Bring You? (part 1)

1. Cotton Panties /or/ Lacy Thongs?: Cotton (I am so much more practical than Lacy Thongs & hate anything that rides up my butt. However, cotton w/ a little lace would be nice :-) !)
2. Hot Chocolate /or/ Chocolate Body Paint?: Yummy, chocolate Body Paint ;-)
3. Roses /or/ Pointsetta's?: Roses
4. Diamonds /or/ Pearls?: Definately Diamonds :-)!
5. A Gift Card To: Walmart /or/ Victoria's Secret?: Victoria Secret but I would have to find a sitter for PJ to go shopping there because I'd be a little emabarassed to bring PJ into that store :-).

As for TFB, I'm up to the black moment now and only got one more page in over the past few days. I hate the fact that Penney's is open so late now. I get home from work about 11 pm too tired to write anything. The good news is that I'm off tomorrow so maybe I can warp up the first draft then.

Oh & the hubby did get the job at Hal-Com. He completed the last of his training yesterday by getting his Linnux Certification and now he's out and about fixing computers at different companies again. If all goes well I can quit Penney's after the Holidays & concentrate on my writing. Keep your fingers crossed for me that all goes well.

I've been debating about what I want to do with the short story I submitted to
Arabella awhile ago. Jesse removed them from her short fiction publisher links because it looks as if they are closing up shop. I feel terrible for all those subscribers who paid for a full year of the magazine and only got a few issues. I also feel bad for my writer friends, Sylvia(although Sylvia did get some excellent news when she won the Reader's Choice Award in Lori Foster's Brava contest :-). Congrats again.) & Anna who had stories accepted by them but then never heard anything back. As for, Mojave Rose, the western I submitted to them, the more I keep thinking about my little story the more I keep thinking that it would make an excellent full-lenght novel with a little reworking. I love my herione. Rosario is a little older than the herione's I noramlly write about but her courage is awesome. I love my hero, Jake. A good guy who just happens to have a jackass for a father. I also love the setting. We've had two chances to drive through the Mojave, once about seven years ago when we drove cross-country to California and the second just this past may when we flew into Vegas and drove to California the next day for my sister-in-law's wedding. It's a beautiful setting. Anyway my thinking is that since I haven't heard back from Arabella & it doesn't look like I will, that means that Mojave Rose wasn't meant to a be short story & that I should re-work it into a full-length. What do you guys think? Let me know in my comments :-).
