Sorry, but I just don't have the time to keep up with both. This blog was meant to be for personal and writing posts and my myspace blog for promoting my work, but I've been hanging around myspace so much lately when I'm not writing, that I'll keep that blog for both purposes. This blog will still be up, but don't expect me to post anything new in it. Sorry, wish I had time to both but as a writer, I have to think about what's the better way to promote my work.
Anyway, if you'd like to check out my blog@ myspace, it's http://blog.myspace.com/margueritearotin
and if you have a myspace, feel free to ad me. I love making new friends there :-D.Marguerite Arotinnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6468963.post-1166284014586517372006-12-16T10:41:00.000-05:002007-01-14T01:14:00.463-05:00Good news from Samhain and sorry I've been quiet with this blog.Sorry things have been silent here lately. I've either been vacationing in Veneficium and soaking in the rays on Ripa Beach, or posting at my other blog at myspace. I might be closing up shop on this blog up soon and just sticking with my myspace blog, since I seem to get more traffic and comments there and keeping up with two blogs is really too much work. I'll have to think about it.
Anyway, this is is a post I'm pasting from my myspace blog.
Okay,

I finally heard back from one of the very nice editors at Samhain Publishing about my The Last Sorceress yesterday. I'm so excited and nervous because of my correspondence with Linda.

I'll keep everyone posted and let you know what Linda thinks of the revised version.Marguerite Arotinnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6468963.post-1163535117418840552006-11-14T15:03:00.000-05:002006-11-14T15:11:57.436-05:00Getting a little too close for comfort with my NANO novel ;-).Know I haven't blogged in awhile, but I've been busily churning out words for NANOWRIMO. I am at almost 27k so it's comming along very nicely :-).
I am decided to try my NANO this year all through the diary entries of my sixteen year old heroine. The entry I just wrote scares me a little because it's very close to something I wrote myself when I was sixteen.
Like Mary, I've always been better with writing my feelings than speaking them. It's hard for me to find the words when someone does something to irritate me or hurt me because I'm afriad I'll say the wrong thing. I hope an editor someday doesn't make me cut this entry because though it is very personal, it's part of what makes my character. Much to my Joy, I'm realizing she's not the female version of Harry Potter :-). Here's the entry and keep in mind that it may be rough with the grammar and typos until I revise. Nano puts quantity over quailty and luckily, I have a talkative teenage muse :-).

Star Date Veneficium 45.0
Dear Diary,
Have ten days really slipped away since my last entry? Wow, I know I never I wrote in here every single day at home. To tell you the truth, I had more to gripe about at home. I know I wrote every single time Mom and I had a fight. I don’t fight with Aunt Cathy at all. In fact, I rarely see her. She’s always busy flying off to the fey kingdom of Fariana. When I do see her at dinner, she’s always been nice to me.
You know what? I don’t know why I used to rant about my Mom in diary at home. Maybe it’s because I couldn’t say some things to her face. Like Iziadore, I’m too much of a coward to tell her how I really feel.
I’ve always been better with writing my feelings out than saying them. That’s why I can text my Mom and tell her things I wouldn’t dare say to her face. It’s not like that with my Dad though. I think he understands me better because we’re more alike. I bet my Mom was an Iziadore type in High School and had guys falling at her feet. My dear ole’ Dad had a rougher go of things, because of his rep.
I’m different with my friends and even Keegan than I am with my Mom, but even Keegan doesn’t know the real me. I have exactly forty-five more days until my honey realizes I’m dull Mary Catherine and not Grenelena. I wonder if I should write him a letter and tell him the truth.
The letter thing might work, but there’s a part of me that says he deserves to know the truth from my mouth. Writing a letter might be a coward’s way out.
This bites, I hate the fact that he doesn’t know the real me but, I’m scared what will happen once he figures it out. I bet adults never have to worry about things like this. Ugh, it sucks being sixteen.
I should stop worrying so much and get to sleep. Keegan already said he loves my good heart and intelligence. That won’t change once I change into Mary Catherine before I go home. Maybe I’m the same inside, even if I don’t have Grenelena’s funky pink hair and big boobs. You know what, I am and I think Keegan will still love me regardless of what I look like on the outside.
Night,
Mary CatherineMarguerite Arotinnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6468963.post-1161649515697898962006-10-23T20:15:00.000-04:002006-10-23T20:26:09.246-04:00I got my Coverart for The Locktender's Daughter and it is gorgeous!!! I love this!! I couldn't have dreamt a better cover for TLD. So beautiful, yet so simple and elegant. Bethany's standing on a packet boat, a passenger boat, and it's perfect because she travels with Tyler by packet. The colors are beautiful too and the text is gorgeous. I have dreamt of my cover for so long and it lives up to all my high expectations. Thanks to the talented Mp Mann for making one of my dreams come true. Now May doesn't seem so far away :-).
Oh and in other writing news, I finished the first draft of Battle of the Mages. Now that it's done, I can participate in NANOWRIMO again this year. I have a brillaint idea for a young adult novel involving the daughter of my heroine's sister from BOTM. So if I'm quiet again for awhile, you'll know why :-).Marguerite Arotinnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6468963.post-1160622743379704492006-10-11T23:02:00.000-04:002006-10-11T23:12:23.413-04:00Hubby and I made up and BOTM is almost done :-)Okay disregard the last post ;-). I told Phillip how I felt and he told me I can go out whenever I want and I don't need his permission. So I feel a little silly for getting all upset about it in the first place. Plus Phil said the service at the HOB sucked anyway. Serves him right for going without me :-P. Okay, that was a bit childish, I know but, ah well :-).
In writing news, I almost done with the first draft of Battle of the Mages and my goal is to have that baby done by the end of the month. If all goes well, I can work on my young adult tale- The Summer Sorceress for NANO this year. Yippee!! Of course I have a job interview for a part-time evening/weekend gig tomorrow, so if I get it, it might cut into my writing time like JCP did two years ago. Ah well, I think the reason I completed NANO with The Last Sorceress last year was because I loved the story so much. If I love my Summer Sorceress enough to keep working on her story, I'll find the time to write, even if I do get the part-time job. I agreed to keep looking because we do need the $ and we do want to make the trip to CA this Christmas. To do so, we need the funds in the bank and I have to do my share to bring in the income until the royalty checks start rolling in there :-).Marguerite Arotinnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6468963.post-1159449358631598182006-09-28T09:14:00.000-04:002006-09-28T09:15:58.650-04:00This is probably a dumb reason to get upset but ...Okay,Normally I don't gripe or complain in my blog. I'd rather use it to talk about my writing, my family, and the good things in life because I figure there's enough people bitching and moaning in the world. But this morning there's something that's bothering me and how can I make myself better about it until my husband gets home and I can talk to him about? I do what any writer would do, I write about it ;-).Here's my problem. Phillip was supposed to have a tech meeting last night with the guys from work, but instead his boss decided to treat him and the other two techs for all their hard work by taking them to see Roger Waters in concert. That was cool, I told him to have fun and enjoy himself and I'd have PJ call him later to say goodnight. So I stayed up until about midnight night last, hoping I could see Phil and say goodnight to him before I turned in. He didn't get home until One a.m. I know becuase he woke me up when he hopped in the shower. I thought , "Okay this late on a work night?" but I tried not to let it bother me too much because I figured he had his fun with the guys. Then I woke up this morning. I found his ticket on the table and a reciept for the House of Blues. Now I am starting to get a little ticked because I've been dying to go to the HOB and he goes without me.Then I start thinking, "When was the last time someone took you out, Dana, for doing a good job with your writing or for taking care of PJ? When was the last time you got to have a night out with your friends?" The last time I went out without PJ or Phil was three years ago, for my thirtieth birthday. Phillip has never once out of the blue offered to watch PJ so that I can have a girls a night out. Granted, I never told him how I felt because I never stopped to think about it until this morning. But it would be nice if maybe after I finished the first draft of story, Phil came up to me and said, "Nice Job. Why don't you call Beckie or Stacy and see if they want to go out tonight? Don't worry about PJ, I'll watch him for you."Now I know that things are a little tight right now with our money situtaion until I start the two part-time jobs I plan on taking, but even when I worked at JC Penneys. he never once offered to watch PJ so I could go out with the girls from work.I guess griping about it will do me no good and I'll talk to him when he gets home from work.Marguerite Arotinnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6468963.post-1158967973297835002006-09-22T19:22:00.000-04:002006-09-22T19:32:53.313-04:00Another rejection, but I'm not too bummed about itGot a rejection for Jenny Rappaport in the mail today. Ah, well. I'm not bummed because I figured I'd give Samhain a try with TLS so I'll just wait and see what they think. I think I'll go the e-book route with TLS and Battle of the Mages and then try for an agent with the YA Novel I'm plotting, The Summer Sorceress.
So now I'm still writing away on BOTM and waiting to hear back on TLS. I'm kinda slowing down with Battle of the Mages I think because I'm getting close to that dreaded Black Moment. I hate tearing a hero and heroine I've come to care about apart, but I do know it's necessary for them to truly appreciate the happy ending I give them. Plus, with this one, my hero, Olorin has some prejudices to oversome before he can live happily ever after with my heroine. I'll get him there though :-).
We've had some newbies join on to the romance critters critique group. I've been enjoying reading the work but some of it is really rough around the edges. But I dish out my advice and suggestions and the girls have been grateful. Hard to believe five years ago I was a new author myself ... no idea on POV, or passive sentences, or showing versus telling. Now I think I've gotten the hang of those mechanics and maybe, just maybe I'll start selling more of my stories because of it :-).Marguerite Arotinnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6468963.post-1158095647020152132006-09-12T17:12:00.000-04:002006-09-12T17:14:07.066-04:00What race from beyond the Great Divide would you belong to?

My Quizzes

What race from beyond the Grea...

Quizilla
Join

Make A Quiz More Quizzes Grab Code

Made this one up last night to promote my stories. I did finally get the pictures from his first day of Kindergarten removed from the digital camera. I'll post a few below. So far he loves school and was actually dispappointed that he didn't have any homework to do on the first day. Hope he stays like that ;-).

Doesn't he make a cute little school boy :-)?
In other family news, my sister-in-law, Jen out in CA had a healthy baby boy on August 30th at 6:33 in the morning. I'll post a pic of Ralph Wesson Herman below. I can't wait to meet my nephew in person 'cause he looks like such a little doll. :-).

What a little cutie pie our new nephew is :-).
Oh and in writing news, I submitted TLS to
Samhain Publishing on my b-day. I've heard great things about them so I'm exicted and nervous. All I can do is hope they love Dazzart and Janet as much as I do. I've been helping another author friend of mine, Jim, get his sci-fi novella ready to send into Samahin. I told him it would be great if we both got coontracts at the same time :-)Marguerite Arotinnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6468963.post-1155955638554466482006-08-18T22:47:00.000-04:002006-08-18T22:47:18.720-04:00Blogthings - What Does Your Birth Date Mean?Since my b-day is comming up, thought I'd share this :-). Too many projects going on.
Oh and my baby starts Kindergarten next week *sniff sniff*
I took him in for his yearly physical this weekend. PJ's 42 1/2" tall and 42 lbs. Got the love of my life a charcoal grill, since we left our old gas grill behind at the old place and we're allowed to have charcoal grills here only. I know he misses grilling outside. The kitchen might be my domain, but my hubby's the typical male and the grill is his. Although he does make an awesome homemade pizza sometime :-).
Sorry that I've been quiet lately. Putting some final revisions on TLS. Sent out a query to Jenny Rappaport yesterday. We'll see how it goes. All I know is that love my ogre hero too much to give up on him and the from the feedback I've been getting on my posted chapter in the old critique group, I know my crit parteners love him too. I know I'll find a home for my sweet ogre and fiesty sorceress. I just have to be patient and believe in myself :-).Marguerite Arotinnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6468963.post-1152639694358638542006-07-11T13:28:00.000-04:002006-07-11T13:41:34.380-04:00Some pictures from our tripTaking a break from revisions on The Last Sorceress to post some pictures from our Forth of July weekend trip. I just hope we can get PJ to leave the Nickoldeon Kids Park when it's time to go, especially since a little Blue doggie he's loved since he was two years old happens to live there. Hmm, I wonder if we'll run into Joe as well :-). We'll also be attending a Cinci Reds Game and Cleveland Indian's game on Sunday, one of the hubby's clients set us up with tickets. Should be decent seats too since the guy is very well connected with the Reds organization. So well connected in fact that Pete Rose has visited his house before! Should be a fun trip.
Anyway, since we won't be back until Tuesday, I hope everyone has a happy 4th of July.Marguerite Arotinnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6468963.post-1151542806798420422006-06-28T21:00:00.000-04:002006-06-28T21:00:06.970-04:00My blog @ myspace.comOkay I apologize for being so quiet lately. I've been working on TLS and the sequel, Battle of the Mages, and critquing when I get a free moment. Also been trying to sneak in a good read. Found a Touch of Evil by CT Adams & Cathy Clamp and love it so far. But when I'm not reading or wiriting, I'm playing at the pool with PJ and here's a cute little gem he said today that you can read about at my my space blog.
Love it and the next story I write with children in it, I'm sticking that comment right in :-).Marguerite Arotinnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6468963.post-1149874540568667452006-06-09T13:29:00.000-04:002006-06-09T13:39:44.153-04:00Got my results back from the Dixie ContestUnfourtunately, they weren't high enough to final but the scores were excellent. Heck of a lot higher than they were when I entered The Locktender's Daughter in another first chapter contest last year. So that's very encouraging for me :-).
One judge gave me 100 out of 100 and only wrote wonderful on the score sheet. The other judge gave me a lower but still excellent score -80 out of 100 and gave me a better overall critique.
The one who gave me the lower score got me thinking. She noticed that I was targetting TOR with TLS and mentioned they seem to take darker romances. I've noticed that as well although my fantasy romance does get darker with the battle scenes, particularly the scene where I kill of the other sorceresses. Anyway, does anyone know of any other mainstream publishers who accept fantasy romance. TOR, Harlequin's Luna Line, and Dorchester are the only three that come to mind for me.Marguerite Arotinnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6468963.post-1148957716727269402006-05-29T22:41:00.000-04:002006-05-29T22:55:16.743-04:00Had a little accident with the hubby's laptop todayYep, the hubby's laptop is out of commision right now. It happened this afternoon when PJ's new friends, Kylie and Alex dropped by because they wanted to know if PJ could come out and play. I wanted to get some work done but wanted to keep an eye on the munchkin too, so I brought the laptop outside to our patio table. Kylie came over to see what I was doing, and accidently spilled her bottle of water on the laptop. I felt terrible when my hubby came home and kept apologizing all day long. Luckily, he was approved for credit from Dell Computers so if his boss doesn't buy him a new laptop, he can purchase a new one.
In writing news, I was working on an erotic vampire novella and even came up with a new persona and pen name - Dani Marks to go along with it. Dani has her own site, if you click on her name you can visit it and her own blog but, I decided I'd hold off on the vampire romance because I got stuck while planning out the final battle scene between my hero, heroine, and villain. Instead, I worked a little more on Battle of the Mages, the sequel to The Last Sorceress and I'm happy with the way the story's going. Still working on revsions for TLS as well. I'm now up to chapter 17. I still hope to have it ready to go for another round of queries by July and it's looking like I might reach my goal. I will not let my two rejections hold me back. If I did, my heroine Janet would pester me until I tried again. I love the story, the characters, and know TLS is my best shot at reaching a big publisher.Marguerite Arotinnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6468963.post-1148326390232730542006-05-22T15:25:00.000-04:002006-05-22T15:33:10.253-04:00Two rejections on the agents for TLSBoth the Knight Agency and Elaine English have passed on my fantasy romance. Oh well, all I can do is keep trying. I know my story is awesome. I know it, I know it, I know it and I'll be damned if I let two rejections bring me down :-D. Chapters 1-15 are revised and good to go so I can't decide if I want to finish revsions on TLS first before I try again, or if I want to keep going with queries. Might just hold off and finish the revisions. My reasoning is that by the time I've completed my revisions, I'll have my contest results back from the Dixie Contest and if I final, I can add that to my query letter. Plus, I plan on submitting Book of the Damned this week so hopefully I can add a publication for BOD to my publishing credits. Rejections do get frustrating but I will go on and try again :-).Marguerite Arotinnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6468963.post-1147647459458815192006-05-14T18:51:00.000-04:002006-05-14T18:57:39.473-04:00Happy Mom's day to all MomsHappy Mother's day. Hope all my fellow Mommies out there are having a great day. I did. Munchkin and hubby surprised me with Krispy Kreme donuts for breakfast this morning and we took my Mom and Dad out to dinner tonight. It's been a fun day so far, though the weather has been crappy. It's rained all day.
I know I haven't blogged in awhile. Still busy revising TLS, being a soccer Mom and I also started writing an erotic vampire novella with a vamp heroine called Dark Diva. I heven dreamed up a new alter-ego to write under- her name is Dani Marks and she has her own site here. As you can see I've had a bunch of things keeping me busy.
Oh and I sent out a query letter to The Knight Agency for TLS. Revisions are rocking so I figured it couldn't hurt to query. Wish me luck ;-). Take care & I hope all you Moms have a great dayMarguerite Arotinnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6468963.post-1146341107603260892006-04-29T16:05:00.000-04:002006-04-29T16:05:08.390-04:00Blogthings - What European City Do You Belong In?Blogthings - What European City Do You Belong In?: "

You Belong in Dublin

Friendly and down to earth, you want to enjoy Europe without snobbery or pretensions.
You're the perfect person to go wild on a pub crawl... or enjoy a quiet bike ride through the old part of town.

What European City Do You Belong In?
"

Okay Dublin would be fun :-).
Sorry I've been quiet again lately. Still revising away on my sorceress tale as well as working on an erotica vampire novella. I'm not used to writing such steamy stuff but I knew the story had to be as erotic as possible but still be romantic because I cannot write porn and get away from the romance, since my heoroine is a vampire. Yep, instead of goign the typical route and making my hero into a brooding alpha-male vamp, my heroine is the sexy, rock and roll vamp diva heroine. You know I can't write the usual route. I always have to put my own spin on things. Here's a brief blurb I wrote for my critique group. Let me know what you think :-).
The man Camille turns to for help is also a man with the power to destroy her.

Camille Coullivaurd is a modern day rock goddess with a dark secret- she is also a one hundred and thirty seven year old vampire. She was once a gifted nineteenth century opera singer but was turned by her mentor, Adrian Bellamount. After transforming her, Adrian’s obsession with her nearly destroyed Camille. She escaped his grasp and managed to hide from him by constantly re-inventing herself. But when her lover is found dead in her hotel room bed, she decides to enlist the aid of the handsome security guard for the House of Blues, Leonardo Vojacek.

Leonardo, or Leo as he’s referred to by his friends, has a secret of his own. Posing as a Security Guard, he was told to keep an eye on the beautiful leader singer for the rock group Dark Diva, Camille. If he learned she was a vampire, he ordered to destroy her. But when she comes to him pleading for help, Leo begins to suspect Camille is telling the truth and is nothing like the usual murderous beasts he's used to hunting. Torn between his sworn duty to the Dark Slayer Legion, a group of undercover vampire hunters and his growing attraction to Camille, Leo must choose between his heart or honor.Marguerite Arotinnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6468963.post-1145294115468344642006-04-17T13:13:00.000-04:002006-04-17T13:15:15.480-04:00First rejection for Book of the DamnedHeard back from Realms of fantasy today and unfourtunately, it was a no thanks. Oh well I think BOD is a great story and I do have other options for it. I'll keep trying.Marguerite Arotinnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6468963.post-1144954513300246952006-04-13T14:47:00.000-04:002006-04-13T14:55:13.313-04:00A perfect spring dayOh it's been gorgeous outside today and belive me, PJ and I took advantage of it. We had our lunch outside. I let him take his bike up to the playground of what will be his school in the fall but it looked like the parents were setting up an Easter egg hunt for the kids and I didn't want to get in the way, instead we settled on the playground in our complex. I think we were outside for at least a good two hours and you know what, after a long and icky winter, it felt great to get back outside again. I'm still ahead of the game with revisions for TLS so I didn't feel guilty about it either :-).
In fact I am so ahead of the game that I started making up my agent list. The Knight Agency, Irene Goodman Agency, and Spectrum are my three tops choices right now. I'm hoping that all goes well in June or July when I'm read to start submitting :-).Marguerite Arotinnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6468963.post-1143914499475842662006-04-01T13:00:00.000-05:002006-04-01T15:33:13.266-05:00A little more encouragement is needed here, honeyPhillip and I got into a fight last night. I was talking to him in the car on our way out to dinner and he made another comment about how he wished I would start looking for another part-time job. I told him that I might be getting some money back if Realms of Fantasy wants to publish my story. Plus there's always the income I'll be getting next year when Wings publishes The Locktender's Daughter. He didn't say anything but he did roll his eyes at me and it bothered the hell out of me.
Anyway, I didn't say a word to him about it until later that night when he wanted to fool around with me.
Then I just told him I wasn't in the mood for it and blurted it all out. My biggest problem has always been when something is bothering me, I let it build up too much before I say anything about it. By the time, I'm ready to talk about it, it all comes out and I end up in tears. I know I'm a darn good writer but I suck when it comes to verbal communication. Been that way since God knows how long. It's not my hubby's fault because I got into many a battle with my mother when I was a teenager because I acted the same way. Think it was even worse then.
Anyway, he did get me calmed down and admitted the only reason why he was irritated with me is because I did tell him I'd get a part-time job after November and I haven't exactly been looking because I've been too caught up with my writing. He said that he knows I have talent and he wishes he were as creative as I am. He doesn't want me to give up the writing, he just wanted me to be more honest with him when I told him I was going to get a part-time job. I guess our major issue is he's more practical and I am more of a dreamer. I just asked him the next time I talk about bringing money from my writing that he be a little more encourging. I think he got it because he took PJ with him to the store to get an oil change on my car and told the little guy he'd take him while Mommy works :-). Now I just hope he'll be a little more encouraging the next time I talk about making money from my writing. My hope is that my dreamer side can win his pracitcal side over :-).Marguerite Arotinnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6468963.post-1143311007562784322006-03-25T13:23:00.000-05:002006-03-25T13:23:27.676-05:00I'm a little red CorvetteSorry that all I've been really posting lately is fun little quiz results but here's another one.
Chevrolet Corvette: "
I'm a Chevrolet Corvette!

You're a classic - powerful, athletic, and competitive. You're all about winning the race and getting the job done. While you have a practical everyday side, you get wild when anyone pushes your pedal. You hate to lose, but you hardly ever do.

Oh yeah that is me. My dream car is a little red 'vette :-).
When I haven't been doing fun little quizzes *grins* I have been working. TLS is coming along awesomely now and I've even started a little bit on the sequel, Battle of the Mages. Just had an idea that I get to get down and figured I'd work it out on the laptop. I just wrote five pages when my hero, the arrogant Olorin from The Last Sorceress and my hero meet. Cathy's a little different from Janet. She's much more shy. But she does kick butt as a fairy :-). Anyway, that brings me to a question, is it okay to have a shy heroine in a story, or do you feel a shy heroine is a weak heroine. I'm trying not to make Cathy look weak but she ended up getting all bent out of shape when Olorin suggested she get contact lenses. My girl can't wear contacts because she gets bad eye infections from them. She's very sensitive about stuff like that because she's lived in the shadow of her gorgeous little sister. So because she got upset when Olorin made the comment about her eyes, does that make her too weak of a heroine?Marguerite Arotinnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6468963.post-1142703665230057432006-03-18T12:41:00.000-05:002006-03-18T12:41:05.286-05:00Stealing HeatherOkay, it's rare that I blog about music but Joshua Aaron, the lead singer from Stealing Heather dropped me a nice note on my space asking if I could add him to my friends. I love checking out bands on my space so I figured I'd drop by and give thier music a listen to before I added them. Wow, if you drop by listen to Maybe it's Nothing and Your Eyes, those two are my faves. Heroin Kiss is really, really good too. Anyway, I dropped Joshua a line back and told him that I'd love to check the band out the next time they do a live show. He messaged me back and said they are doing a live show on Friday, May 26th at the House of Blues in Downtown Cleveland. As long as we can find a sitter for PJ, I am so there :-). Tickets are $20 and include a copy of the bands new CD. I just hope we can find a sitter now. Not only would it be a great way to check out the HOB which I have never been inside of yet, we'll also get some CD with some killer tunage and check out a great show :-).
And yes, I know I've been lacking on the blogging lately. Been revising The Last Sorceress like crazy because I want to start submitting it to agents in June. I decided to go the agent route because TLS is my best work to date and my best chance at hitting a big New York publisher. That is, if I can find one who likes ogre heroes :-). I already have an angent list formed in my head. But if the agent thing doesn't work out, then I'll try the smaller house e-book thing. I already have a few in mind. New Concepts Press and Samhain are both looking excellent now as well as Inara press. But first I've got to get my baby so cleaned up that it will shine :-)Marguerite Arotinnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6468963.post-1141690521027577792006-03-06T19:10:00.000-05:002006-03-06T19:15:21.040-05:00Book of the Damned is sent out and I entered a contest.I've been getting such awesome feedback on TLS that I decided to go ahead and enter the first chapter in The Dixie First chapter contest. Wish me luck :-). I also sent out Book of the Damned today to ROF. I hope they love it enough to want to publish it. The market for short stories is shrinking and I don't know what I'd do with it if they didn't want it. Of course, I could always lengthen it to a full-length fantasy? Well, we'll see what Realms has to say first :-).Marguerite Arotinnoreply@blogger.com
