Explore The Shows: 134th Edition

Explore The Shows: 134th Edition

Went today and it was so much fun. Unfourtunately, PJ got tired just as the second act started and started getting cranky and asking when it was going to be over. He ended up putting his head on my lap and falling asleep toward the very end of the show. Such is life with a toddler I guess. But he did say he had fun and loved the clowns and elephants. We'll have to take him again next year but we'll have to make sure he either sleeps in or gets a nap before the show :-).

While I was at the website, I took the aptitude test and it turns out I have all skills to be a ringmaster. If it wasn't for my squeaky little voice, I could see myself doing that LOL :-).

Writing wise, I decided I'm not doing any more work on TFB until November 1st when National Novel Writing month starts. That way I can throw myself into the whole project and just keep going. Of course my novel won't end even if I do meet the 175 page goal becuase I do anticipate it to be longer but 175 pages will give me a good push to keep going and finsh the damn thing already :-).

My new blog- just for my novel :-)

current mood=
The Fireland's Bride

Okay I'm doing it :-). 175 pages doesn't seem that bad considering that I've already gotten 133 pages so far. So I set up a new blog just for my story & for blogging my progress. If you choose to comment on anything in that blog, please keep in mind my story is a work in progress. As much as I love the characters so far, there are times when I do think that all I'm writing is well, crap but I keep going. I keep going because this story is important to me. I keep going in memory of all those pioneer families who ventured to Ohio and tamed it's wilderness. I keep going because Lach & Sarah's story isn't much different from their stories.

So please try to understand that if you visit my new blog and make any comments on my new story. I'm not sure how much I'll be posting in this one come Nov. 1st. I might just only do my Chick Chat but I will be updating my TFB Blog frequently and posting tid-bits of my WIP here and there.

Hubby's interview went well but they'll only need him for like 20 hours to start out with. But he did get a call from Hal-Com and the owner is taking him out to lunch on Monday :-). I hope it goes well for him.

Blogging Your Novel- Something I'm thinking about participating in

November is national novel wriitng month & I've been thinking about participatind in the Blogging Your Novel Challenge that blogger is doing. It will be a good way to get me back on track with the Fireland's Bride. Are they any of my other writer pals who are going to be doing this as well? Maybe we could get together and cheer each other on :-). Just a thought.

Got two pages in so far today and it felt good to get back to work on my TFB. I've been procrasting for way too long. In two week's I'll have Monday & Tuesday off from Penney's so my plan is to take one of those days & work on my research. Really the only thing I still want to look into is the violin issue. I decided I'm going to have Lach barter for the violin but I still would like to learn a little about americna made violins before I dive in and write about one. I can't wait t get to the Christmas scene where Sarah opens her gift. I envision a scene with her playing Silent Night on her new violin and rushing to her husband's arms when she completes the song. *Ah* Don't you just love the little things in a good romance ;-)?

Phillip has a job interview for another place tonight so I'm crossing my fingers again for him. I'll be dropping PJ off at his cousins house while Daddy's at his interview so I'm sure he'll have fun with them.

We're going to the circus tomorrow. It should be lots of fun. Phillip got really good seats for us, not floor seats but just off the floor. I haven't been to the circus in years, the last time we went was back when I was dating Phillip & we took my brother. My brother was nine at the time, he's twenty now, you can do math and figure out how long ago that was. Any way, I'm gonna grab some lunch. Talk to everyone soon !

Questions For October 19th
Silly Questions

1. Would you rather loose a finger or a toe?: Toe, wouldn't be as noticable
2. Brussel Sprouts or Peas?: Peas, please :-)
3. Be Blind or Deaf?: Ohh, tough one. I think deaf because I'm a very visual person
4. Would you rather be Bald or have baaad BO?: definately bald, I can get a wig
5. If you had to choose: Money or Beauty?: Money because if I had the money & wanted the beauty, there's such a thing as plastic surgery :-).

Still haven't gone anything done writing wise. Weather's supposed to be nice on Friday so I might go downtown for my research. We'll see how it goes.

Phillip said the interview went very well. They've interviewed seven people so far and he's at the top of the list. They said theyll call next week if they are interested in doing a second interview :-).

My Mom invited us to a Halloween Party on Sunday that one of her friends from work is throwing. Sounds like lots of fun. Found my old dead beauty queen costume so I'll probably wear that. Need more zombie make-up though. Will probaly make a new sash too because my old sash says Miss Zombie 1998. Still have my black roses and skeleton purse to carry, need more cobwebs for the crown though. We still have to paint the pumpkin PJ got from his field trip so maybe I'll hit the craft store sometime this week. Well I've gotta do dishes, Joy of Joy! Take care everyone :-)

Fundraising mission accomplished :-).

Including the order for our Chocolate Covered Pretzels & Cashews, we ending up selling a total of $253.50 ofPeterson's Nuts. Not too shabby considering we only had to sell $90.00 worth. We raised enough that we don't have to particpate in the spring fundraiser unless we want too :-). We'll find out after I turn his form and $ in tomorrow of we were one of the top sellers in his preschool. I think we stand a pretty good chance.

Might go way back and do a one little revision to The Locktender's Daughter before I send it out again. There was one scene that I wasn't too crazy about but none of my crit partners ever said anything about it so I left it as is. I had a brainstorm on how to rework it last night. I'm working the rest of this week but I'm still gonna try to make plans to make it downtown to do some research. I was hoping that I could sneak in a trip to Vermilion for some handson research but the weather is getting colder and colder. Doesn't look like it's gonna happen, unless I go in the spring when the weather warms up.

In other news, my hubby has an interview with an excellent computer consulting company called Hal-Com. I know he's not happy with where he's at now so I hope it goes well for him. My dream would be if that it went well enough and it turned out he was making enough $ that I could quit Penney's, I would do it in a heartbeat. I like the people that I work with and all but I don't want to make a career outa retail again. Been there done that. I would love spend all my spare time trying to realize my dream of getting published and Penney's does cut into my writing and even my research time. Anyway, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for him because I want him to be happy with what he's doing of course, but I also want to be happy with what I'm doing :-).

Do You Have A Grudge?- very spooky flash site

Do You Have A Grudge?

Ohh, this is so creepy! Thanks to the hubby for sending me the link. Trying to figure out a way to put a link up for it on my spooky street. Love it though, scary without the blood and gore, right up my alley. Movie looks pretty cool too. Hubby's not so much into horror movies though so I doubt I could talk him into going but it does have Sarah Michelle Gellar in it and I know he adores her. If not, I can give my high school bud Becky a call. Becca loves horror movies. Plus my bro's back to being an assitant manager at Cinemark again so if he's working he might be able to hook us up for free.

Redorating my Haunted Home wanted each of the rooms to look more like actual rooms and not just a mish mash of graphics. I'm pretty happy with the results but I might still add a little bit here and there between now and Halloween. PJ previewed all the rooms and the only room he thought was too scary was the Ballroom after you click on the ghost girls but he liked it anyway :-).

Not much going on writing wise. Weather was too crappy to take the Rapit Transit downtown for my research yesterday. It's still pretty crappy today, cold & wet. But the leaves are so pretty here. I can tolerate the cold & the wind because I know that's what makes the leaves change. Might try to go again this week, maybe on Friday. Still have to decide how I want Lach to learn about the violin for sale in PA. I'll have to think it over some more so I can least get that scene written before I start my research. Well I'm going to bed. Night all & as Elvira would say, "Unpleasant Dreams" (Sorry I'm just in a halloweenish mood tonight, couldn't resist!)
