Field Trip day & another page and 1/2 in !

Current mood=

Today was a fun day at the little guy's preschool. PJ had his very first field trip. We went to Pickering Hill Farm and went pumpkin picking. I volunteered to drive and drove PJ and a little boy named Mohammed. I was worried at first when I learned I would be driving Mohammed because he cried twice when his mom dropped him off and she ended up having to stay (including on picture day, the photographer and teachers had a heck of a time trying to get him calmed down) but he was only upset when they took his carseat away to put in my car. He was really good at the farm and in the car. He's fairly new to th school so I guess it just took him a few days to adapt to going to preschool. Anyway, PJ got another cute little pumpkin, we went on a hayride, and through a corn maze. This one was a lot easier than the one we went through at Red Wagon Farm and we had no problem finding our way through. Well we did have to stop once 'cause PJ almost lost his shoe but we were able to keep going :-). I'm kicking myslef in the butt that I forgot to bring our camera but luckily his teacher took pictures so I'm certain she'll have copies.

PJ's watching Blue's Clues now so I was able to get a another page and a half in. Little by little I'm starting to get back in the swing of things with my writing. Still wish I'd hear something back from Arabella on Mojove Rose so I can start submitting The Locktender's Daughter again. I'll give them about another month and if I don't hear anything, I'll start submitting regardless. I will be able to mention the fact that Captive Hearts was accepted for publictation in my query letter so that oughta help my chances :-)

Another page and a half in

current mood=

I know it's not much but it's a good start. Maybe I'll write some more when I get home from Penney's tonight. Since I'm feeling better today, I guess I'll have to go work tonight.

I need to think about how I'm going to let Lach learn about the woman in PA who wants to sell her Violin. I'm thinking that he'll ask around Cleveland when he goes to sell his fish and maybe run into one her relatives. I still want to look into American made violins and I am off on Friday this week so maybe I'll make a trip to the library then.

Still waiting on Gina to send me the conctracts for Captive Hearts. She did say she was very busy so I'm still confident she'll get them back to me. Still haven't heard anything from Arabella on Mojave Rose but I guess no news is good news :-). Anyway, I'm gonna run and grab some lunch and then maybe PJ & I will go outside to play.

Sick as a dog & ccquestions

current mood=
Both the hubby & I are down & out with a terrible cold. PJ got it first and has just about recovered while Phillip & I are still suffering. I ended up leaving Penney's about fifteen minutes early last night and picking up some cold meds from Wal-Mart on the way home. Phillip stayed home from wokr today & I called off from Penney's. Took some dayquill and a nice hour 1/2 nap with PJ and that has helped. I should be back to my normally perky self by tomorrow.

I'm hoping I can back on track with my writing again by tomorrow too. I found a draft of a letter from Lach (my hero) to his parents and it reminded me why I'm writing this story. I have nothing but respect for the pioneers who made their way from CT to start a new life in the fledgling state of Ohio and I think their story needs to be told just as much as the stories of the pioneers who made their way farther westward. They too had their share of hardships, malarial fevers and cold rugged winters. Yet, they persevered and helped to make my home state the wonderful place it is today. That's why I'm writing The Fireland's Bride. I'm sure I can make a trip up the the library soon for my violin research but until then I do want to work on my sgtory and fill in as many details as I can
