Doesn't look like I'll be going to Vermilion today

current mood=

*Sigh* Too cloudy out today plus it rained all this morning. I don't want to risk it. But if I look at the bright side, I'll be off Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday next week so I should be able to make it up there one of those days :-). Besides, I actually have a lot to work on today.

Sidonie gave me a very insightful & detailed crit of TLD so it looks like I might be doing some more polishing off on that (thanks Sidonie :-).) Plus, I know it's early but I've been working on my yearly virtual Haunted Home! I've always loved Halloween so I figured why not get it started. I added a fortune teller's room this year, and I still have to change a few of my links. I might add a game room later. I usually get most of my ideas from Jan's Courtyard or the Bonegarden Estate. those two are my favorite virtual haunted homes and never cease to get me in the halloween mood when I visit them. I try to keep my haunted home a little on the light side with a bit of haunting humor added to each room. Oh, in case your wondering yes I have been toying with the idea of doing a paranormal romance but it would have to be kept at least a little on the light side as well because I don't think I could write too dark. Anyway, my stomach is grumbling so I'm off to grab some lunch :-)

Boring Day

Current mood=

No critiques yet on Captive Heart and I don't plan on taking the drive to Vermillion until Friday so my full length manuscript is still at a standstill. *Sigh* I was so bored that I actually cleaned the bathroom LOL :-). I heard it might rain today so I'm trying to decide if I want to take PJ outside. It's a little bit cooler out today and they said that a cool front might be comming through and bring rain along with it. I hope it all clears up by Friday. I suppose I could add a little bit more to The Fireland's Bride but I'll have to think about how much more I want to add before I visit the actual location. I could always add a very basic sketch of the land and add more sensory details once I visit it. That might work. But right now I'm hungry & so is P.J. so it's to the kitchen to make lunch first :-).

Beautiful day & we got to spend it at the park :-)

Current mood=

We had a nice little picnic at the park today with Pam & Josh. They'll be going to North Carolina on vacation for a week but we said we'd try to get together again before the boys go to preschool. The playground was really nice, it's right down the street from the Drive-in and Kiddy Park. It's behind the Brooklyn Police Department. I never knew it was there. We drive past the area all the time & I never saw it. It's a cute place. It's in the 70's here today a bit breezy but sunny and beautiful. It's a shame that summer is coming to end and before I know it my little boy will be starting preschool. I'm gonna miss our trips to the playground and playing in the back yard. At least he'll only be gone for a couple of hours, two days a week so I'll still have plenty of time to play with him when he gets home from school and on the days when he's off from school :-).

Oh & here's my

Ah, love my favorite topic to chat about :-).
1. Who Was Your Big High School Crush?: Corey Sluzewski, a skaterboarder :-)
2. Your First True Love?: Let's see here the guy I thought was my first true love was Chris Shadowski but he broke my heart. My first real true love was my husband, Phillip Ozak
3. First Kiss?: Mike Cromika after the homecoming bonfire behind the bank during my freshman year of High School
4. Your First (ahem!) Time?: My husband :-). Although we weren't married yet, we were very much in love and I'm glad I waited for him.
5. The One That Got Away?: There were a few crushes that I had that I was too shy to admit but I don't think I lost out on anything much. I believe everything happens for a reason and I think I let those guys slip away because I wasn't meant to be with them. I was meant to be with my hubby :-).

Captive Hearts is completed

current mood=

Yippee :-). Now it's in the hands of my Critique Group. I like it. For a short story, I think I did a pretty good job of showing the conflict between my heroine, Rachel and my hero, Ezra. It isn't always easy to do in a short story format. Romance as short story is difficult and you really have to watch yourself. If you put too many descriptions in, you can go over word count in a flash. If you put too little in, the story ends up bland. It's a delicate balance but I love the challenge :-).

My parents took us out to dinner last night at Texas Roadhouse. Outback used to be our favorite steakhouse but I think Texas Roadhouse is even better. The food there is excellent everytime we go and the service is awesome. Then we went back to their house because Phillip promised he'd get rid of all the spyware that's been slowing up their puter. I got to see my brother too for a little bit before he took off to practice with his band. My mom said that it's rare he's actually home. I know it's gotta be rough on him, having to move back with my Mom & Dad after living on his on own but he seems to be making the best of it. He said he's been working 6 days a week at Cinemark Movie Theater and that they might promote him back to manager. (He got fired over something really stupid that I'm not going to go int detail with here but he talked his way back in. He's back to working in the box office again & seems to like it.) All in all, it looks like he's been doing good. Anyway, I gotta run & do dishes before I get ready for dinner & work tonight. Bye for now.

The Anniversary was awesome :-)

Current mood=

We had soo much fun. Dropped the little guy off at my sister and brother-in-law's house about 4. Then we headed straight downtown. The room was gorgeous. It had an excellent view of Lake Erie, a whirlpool bath tub, a nice little sitting and dining area, and the bedroom area had it's own doors for our privacy :-). Two T.V.'s, a coffee maker, and the bathroom had two sinks so we could both get ready at the same time (although the hot water didn't work on one. That was really the only problem with the room.)

After checking in and fooling around for a little while :-), we walked over to Tower City and had dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe. Since we got there early, there was no wait :-). The food was excellent & we both had desert (Phillip had cheesecake and I had Strawberry Ice Cream.) After dinner, we had a little bit of time to spare before the concert so we walked around Tower City for a little bit and looked at the shops. Then we walked down to the amphitheater for the show. There was a shuttle that went down but it wasn't that far of a walk. The night was nice, a little breezy and we both wished we brought our jackets but at least it wasn't too hot. The guy that opened for Huey Lewis And The News was a riot. His name was Paul Thorn and his songs were too funny :-). Huey put on one heck of a show. He still has an excellent voice and his band still knows how to rip it up. We had good seats too. About 15 rows back, not too bad. When he came back out for encore, he very cutely tossed his arms up in the air and said, "Okay if you insist." Not to mention, they played my favorite song when they came back out, "Doing it all for my baby." I thought that was a fitting description for our anniversary celebration :-).

After the concert, it was back to the hotel for our chocolate covered strawberries (yummy :-).) and champagne (It was okay, I'm not a big fan of champagne unless it's pink. I think the best stuff we ever had champagne wise was at our wedding and I wish I knew what it was.). We didn't have anything to pop the cork with so after some pulling, Phillip finally got it out. It flew across the room but luckily didn't break anything :-). We took advantage of the tub ;-). Played around until about 1 a.m. and then I was exhausted. He wore me out :-). He wasn't quite tired yet so he went into the sitting room and watched a little T.V. We didn't wake up until about 10:40 yesterday morning so we couldn't do breakfast in bed but we did go downstairs to the restaurant where they had an excellent breakfast buffet. Then it was back to the room to pack and we took off to get the little guy.

When we got to my sister's house to pick up P.J., we learned that our nephew, Chase had a little accident. My brother-in-law took them to Malley's Chocolates because the boys all wanted suckers. Chase was running towards the counter and tripped over his sandal. Got a nasty gash on his forehead and the poor kid ended up getting ten stitches. Chase is only a few months older than P.J. so P.J. was really worried about his cousin. Carrie (my sister) said on the way back from the hospital P.J. kept saying, "Poor cousin. Chase got a boo-boo. Now I have two cousins, 1,2." When Carrie called to let us know Chase was okay, PJ wanted to talk to her too and make sure Chase was okay. My Mom & Dad are taking us out to dinner today so we told P.J. we'd stop by my sister's house to visit Chase. He's too cute, it was sweet to see him worried so much. Well I might do some writing before we go to dinner an I've got some other things to do around the house. As you can see, we had a fun date.
