Worked on some minor revisions on Chapter 13 (Yeah I know I'm going backwards!)

I got some excellent crits back on Chapters 13, 15, & 16 from the two new ladies, Carol & Keisha, in my crit group. I just finished some minor work on chapter 13 & will work on chapters 15 & 16 on the weekend. I also downloaded Anne's latest chapters & am hoping I can get those uploaded for her next week. Overall, I'm very happy with my progress and I'm liking the story even more with every revision I make. I think once it's done it will be good enough to submit to Harlequin or Dorchester. I just hope their editors agree with me ;-).
I've never had as much confidence in my work as I do on The Locktender's Daughter. I had a feeling I was penning something special from just the first few pages I wrote. I know I've got a strong story here, likeable characters, and a setting that's unique but fun. I actually wrote a few pages for the sequel, Saving Grace and I have a feeling that will be something special as well.
The Firelands Bride will be special too but I bit different. My hubby made a comment that he didn't see Lach's profession (He's a fisherman) as being heroic. I think he's wrong. Personally, I think there's something special about a man who braves the waters every day to provide for his family. Not to mention he was willing to marry a woman he barely knew, and leave his hometown to make a life with her and her son in the infant state of Ohio. If that isn't heroic, I don't know what is. Lach is a hero but a different type of hero. The kind of rock-steady man you'd want for a husband. I really believe there are different types of heroes. Just because Lach isn't a doctor like Tyler or a secret service agent like Hagan, doesn't make him any less of a hero. Well I'm going to get the laundry & mop the floors. Drop me a line if you agree with me that my Lach is a hero. I'm curious to get other's opinons on what makes a man heroic.

Just a quick note before I go to bed

Today was pretty productive. Got my submission sent out to the Virgina RWA's Fool For Love Contest. This is my first contest (well there was the one for the National Library of Poetry a.k.a.: Watermark Press, a.k.a.: Poetry.com but we won't go there) so I'm a bit nervous. But I really believe this is my best work yet and I'm anxious to see what other's think. It's gotten good reviews from my crit group so far :-).
I also revised Chapter 18 and added a little bit to the beginnig of the chapter from Olivia's POV. I'm happy with the way it turned out. I can't help but feel sorry for the lady because loving a man like Josiah can't be easy. I know I'm getting somewhere though when I begin to feel for my characters ;-). Okay, I'm off to bed. Let's hope tomorrow is just as productive

Chapter 17 is revised & uploaded

Finished it last night but didn't get a chance to upload it to my critique group until today. We have two more new members to our little group now (Yeah :-)!) I love reading the work of the new people who come into our folds & I really hope I'm giving them helpful suggestions.

Went to a women's expo downtown with my sister & mom yesterday. It was really neat. Lots of good booths, freebies, and info. I bought some avon bubble bath for myself and a few books for PJ. My sister spent more money on her boys I think. She bought books for all of them & a chain & eagle pendant for the oldest one. My mom bought wooden snake toys for PJ & one for all three of Carrie's boys to share. Phillip dropped me off at my moms & then went off to Microcenter with PJ & his friend/business partener Mike. They wiped out the company bank account & bought all the fixings for new computers. I'm writing this on the laptop now until my hubby gets the new 'puter put together. He said things are going very well & they must be because I didn't hear any swearing downstairs yesterday. Well I'm gonna wake PJ now. Don't want him napping too long. Ciao for now :-).
