It's done :-).

Current Mood=

Yipppee :-). Captive Hearts has one more revision on it. I think I need one more read through on the story before I send it along to A hint of Seduction. PJ was playing with his Casey the Kinderbot while I was working on it and while it is a cute toy and he's learned a lot from it, there's no volume control on the thing! Luckily, I was able to tune out most of it as I wrote away.

I'm taking the weekend off. Though I might do one critque because I owe Lauri one, I'm not doing any writing. It's rare that I have a Saturday and Sunday off from Penney's so I plan on on enjoying it. Hope everyone else has a great holiday weekend :-).

First five pages of Captive Hearts are edited and now up on my website

Current mood=

Okay here's a preview of my little story :-). I'm about halfway through it with my edits *Yippee!* This is another one that I think would have potential as a full-length novel if I ever have time to work it into one. If you do drop in and read it. Please let me know what you think either here or in my Guest Book.

One of the groups that I belong to is talking about doing a BIAW (Book in a week, though we really don't write a full book in a week. Usually we just set goals for ourselves and try to reach them.) Challenge. I think that's exactly what I need to get off my butt and start working on The Fireland's Bride again. I'm hoping they don't start it though until after Labor Day. PJ does start preschool on the 7th but it's only for an hour for the first two days to avoid any separation anxiety (separation anxiety,PJ? Yeah right. He'll wave goodbye and just take off playing, knowing him.) and considering that it takes about 20 minutes to get to his preschool from our house, I know I won't have much writing time for the first two days. He'll start a regular schedule on the 14 (Tuesdays & Thursdays for a whole 2 1/2 hours :-)!) so I plan on taking at least an hour of that time to write.

I was just thinking this morning that even if I don't have time to work on my short story or my full length MS during the day, I usually find some time to write in my blog. That should count for something, right? I mean writing in an online journal isn't exactly the same thing as writing fiction but it is good practice to at least post my thoughts daily in here. I've even become somewhat anal here about what I write. Trying to watch my grammar, spell checking, stuff like that. I mean I'm not as anal here as I am when I'm working on a short story or a full-length MS but I do like to make sure I'm somewhat coherent when I write in here. Personally I think that any kind of writing as helping to grow as a writer. You know what they say, practice makes perfect :-).

My Disney Quiz and the revisions on CH :-)

Current mood=

cinderella
YOU ARE CINDERELLA!!!

Which Disney Character are you? (many outcomes and pics!)
brought to you by Quizilla

Took this last night after seeing it in
Rosie's Blog. Cinderella has always been my favorite Disney heroine and I love her song (A dream is a wish your heart makes.) So I'm happy with the results :-).

PJ is upstairs playing on the computer again. The calls for mommy to help him have been been as much lately so he's turing into a true little whiz. It's still mostly his Crayola Favorite Places coloring book he loves to play and the Blue takes you to School game. He's very artistic and loves any kind of game where he can color or draw.

I started on what I think should be my final revisions of Captive Hearts this morning. Got the first scene down so that's not too bad. If I do a little bit each day, I should have it ready by the end of the week. Which is good because I'm off this weekend and would rather spend it playing than working. We were talking about maybe going to the Air show this weekend if we have the $ and if the weather is nice. Well I am off to grab the little guy and get some lunch.

Got another critique of Captive Hearts

Current mood=

Yippee, Lauri posted her crit of the latest verion of my little story. I think I only have one more revision to go, using some of her suggestions, and CH should be ready to go :-). Worked on my query letter for the story last night since all the edits are just about done on the story. Personally, I think it's my best work yet as far as shorter works go but we'll see what they think at A hint of seduction.

PJ was a real little angel today :-). He played really nice with another little girl at they playground, I mean sharing her sand toys, cheering her on when she was walking across the balence beam, just being a very sweet little boy. I noticed they were doing a blood drive at the park and since PJ was being so good and since it's been awhile since I last gave, I figured what the heck, why shouldn't I give blood? PJ was really good then too. He sat and ate cookies and juice while he waited and when he did start getting a little antsy, one of the red cross workers gave him a lanyard hook to wear and he proudly wore it saying he wanted to be Dr. PJ , too cute :-).

My hubby just informed me the Indians beat the Yankees butt, 22-0. Go Tribe :-). It warms my heart when the underdogs win :-). I wonder how far behind they are in the central division race, I'll have to check later :-).

Okay one last thing before I go to bed. I cannot forget my

1. Who was your idol?: Believe it or not, it was Wonder Woman :-)
2. What color/kind of hair did you want?: I was happy with my own hair color, brown
3. Did you dream about a career or being a mommy?: Both I wanted to be a mommy and bestselling novelist
4. Who was your big star crush?: Oh my gosh, I so adored Pierce Brosnan. I religiously watched Remmmington Steele every week. (And the guy still looks good for his age. Hmm and he makes a yummy James Bond :-).)

Night everyone :-)

What kind of Blogger I am

Current mood:

Fun and spunky, you link, there for you are! This
is all fun and games, and you do what you
damned well please!

What kind of blogger am I?
brought to you by quickly

Well I do agree with the last line :-). But it isn't all fun and games because I do talk about my work. Well now that I do think about it, writing is fun for me so yeah maybe it is me LOL :-).

Finished another revised edition of Captive Hearts and uploaded it to the
Critique Group, I like the version I uploaded as is but I added some new stuff so I want to see what the rest of the gang thinks of the stuff I added. I think it should be ready to submit after one more final revision :-).

Went over my parents house last night to celebrate my b-day and did lunch with the in-laws after I left Penney's. My in-laws got me a ton of really nice bath stuff, my parents got me Song of Susannah, the latest book in Stephen King's Dark Tower series, and my sister and brother-in-law got me chocolates (yummy ;-)!) I also got my movie in the mail today. Can't wait to watch it :-).

They had an associate day at Penney's yesterday where instead of a 25% discount, we got 35% off. We just got PJ a twin sized bed and got him a set of Spiderman sheets to go on it. He loves his new "big boy bed" before that he was just sleeping in a toddler bed. He got a really cute postcard from his preschool teacher saying how they can't wait to see him and how much they are going to have. We'll be going to a parents meeting at his preschool tonight and my DH will get to see the school for the first time. I think preschool will be a lot of fun for PJ and though I know the free-time might not be enough, I'm looking forward to it :-)
