One more day 'till the big anniversary.

Current mood =

We'll drop PJ off at my sister & brother-in-laws between 3&4 tomorrow. I can't wait :-). The only thing we'll have to think of is where we want to do dinner. We could always do the Hard Rock Cafe because it's right at Tower City & the concert will be right outside. It'll depend on the wait. Or we could go down the street & do the Winking Lizard Tavern but we do go there quite a bit. They have a chain of them now & we visit they just opened up one right around the corner from us in Lakewood. We go there all the time because it's a nice place where the hubby can get a beer but where we take also take PJ. The food's really good too. Plus all the locations have a real-live Iguana in his own large glass closet. PJ gets a kick out of looking at the Iguana.

Oh, I got the letter from PJ's preschool. The parent's meeting is on the 30th. I think he'll have fun going to school. He's very friendly but we've gotta work on the sharing thing a little bit :-). I know he'll make lots of new friends and it'll be a good way to prepare him for *gasp* kindergarten. I'll miss him though but he'll only be going for two hours on Tuesday and Thursday. It'll give me a little more time to get some writing done without him trying to climb on my lap when I'm using the laptop because he wants to play Blue's Clues or see what Mommy is doing. But it will be waay to quiet around for those couple hours when he won't be here.

I'm about half way though on my short story now. I can't decide if I want to include a *ahem* sex scene or not. A hint of Seduction does allow for sensual stories and I am leaving my hero & herione alone in his cabin with him trying to convince her he'd make a suitable husband. What better way to do so then letting him make love to her. I'll have to think about it. I won't be blogging again until after we're back from our 10 year celebration so I'll be sure to post again either on Saturday night or sometime on Sunday. Take care ;D

When one door slams shut, another one opens

current mood=

Hi Marguerite,

I noticed that I had a link from your page to mine. Since I didn't recognize your name, I went to check out your site to see how someone linked from you to me. I didn't notice any links, but I think we are in some of the same webrings. So, that's probably how the link happened.

However, I was very impressed with your site and your writing. Are you familiar with A Hint of Seduction? We are a romance short story ezine.
We publish two short stories per month. One by a previously published author and one by a never before published author. We're always looking for good writers. I would like to invite you, if you are interested, to submit a short story to AHoS. I'm currently booking into the 2005 production schedule. We only pay $10 per story. However, we have several editors and agents receiving complimentary subscriptions to our ezine. Therefore, your work is in front of the people who matter.

Please feel free to check out our site (URL in my sigline) and to email me with any questions. Good luck with your writing!

How cool is that :-). I didn't have any ideas for a short story at first until I thought about Captive Hearts, my idea for a novel which deals with the very early history of Ohio. I thought it might make an intrguing short story :-). So I went ahead & wrote six pages of it yesterday. :-). I like it so far & it's the perfect thing to work on while TFB is at a standstill. Funny how when you get one disappointment something happens which gets you right back up on the old writing horse again.

Oh & before I forget here's my
1. Bikini or 1 Piece Bathing Suit?: one piece until I have time to excercise again :D
2. Halter Tops: A Do or a Don't?: I like them so a do
3. Where's Your Best Tan-Line?: On my arms. My legs are still pretty pale
4. Have You Ever Asked a Stranger to put Oil/Sunscreen On You?: no way!
5. Do you Buy Bathing Suits that Make your Boobs Look Bigger?: LOL. I don't think I could find one to make my boobs look bigger.

The sting of rejection

Dear Dana, After reading your manuscript, we have decided not to publish it. We hope you keep writing, and working on your writing. Regards, Kathryn

Wish she would've given me a reason. Oh well. Awe-Struck was jsut an e-book publisher anyway & while they had a good e-book contract, I wasn't thrilled with their pod contract. Harlequin Historicals still has my query and even though they're going subscription only for North America, I'm not giving up hope on them Plus I want to query Dorchester, Whiskey Creek, Romance at heart, Mundania, and maybe even Avon. I know I have a good story & I'm not giving up on it it.

I know what we're doing for our anniversary :D

He gave in and told me last night. Part of it, I already figured out when I heard that Huey Lewis would be in town for a concert on our big day. But I didn't know the rest. He got us the romance package at the downtown Cleveland Marriott. Complete with breakfast in bed, a whirlpool tub, and chocolate covered strawberries. Have I mentioned how much I love him :-)? Plus we're going out to dinner before the show. It'll be the perfect way to spend our big day.

I added a few more pages to TFB last night & now I'm up to 70 pages. I had an idea today to go back to my villains POV so that's what I'll do today. I don't think I'll go to Vermilion until next week 'cause I'm off next week Friday. I'll proably check out the Nautical Museum there and some of the beaches. They supposedly have a very cool histoic wharf area that I'm looking forward to checking out.

In honor of my ten year wedding anniversary, here's a little blast from the past :-)

Here's some pictures from our wedding, ten years ago :-). Both the hubby & I have put on a little weight since then (I guess that's to be expected after ten years.) and I my hair's longer now & worn different. But we're still in love after all these years & although we no longer act like newlyweds, we are very comfortable with each other and I couldn't imagine spending my life with anyone else.

Up to 69 pages now :-)

Current mood=

The Fireland's bride is moving right along. Figured instead of starting out the next chapter with their arrival in Vermilion, I'd start it out with them leaving the house they stayed at over by the Black River. Still want to try & visit Vermilion this week or maybe next week but we'll see how it goes.

Phillip & I actually had a night to ourselves :-). We were invited to CD release party at a bar over in Garfield Hts. and since the band wasn't going on until 10 pm, we went to the movies first. We saw The Bourne Supremacy which was really good. The only thing we didn't like was the fact that some of the camera work was a little jerky (reminscent of The Blair Witch Project) but it had a good plot, some cool chase scenes and excellent acting. Matt Damon once again was excellent in his role as the amnesiac spy and they hinted that they might do a third movie. I know the books were a triolgy so that would be cool if they did. The band, Hybrid Factor was really good. Our friends, Glenn & Cheryll recorded, mixed, and produced their CD in their home studio. We bought a copy of the CD and since Glenn got to do thank you's, he thanked Phillip fo his technical support. My sister & brother-in-law took PJ overnight and he had fun playing with his cousins while mommy and daddy enjoyed some fun "alone time ;-)" when we got home. Their also taking him over night on Friday for our annivesary. Can't wait to see what my DH has planned for me :-).
