Queried Arabella

current mood=
Just sent out my query to Arabella today for Mojave Rose. Hopefully they'll like my little story.

Now all my previous projects have been submitted, I plan on really buckling down & working like crazy on The Firelands Bride. I hope to pay a visit to Vermillion within the next two weeks and check out the lay of the land. I'm almost to the point where Sarah's family arrives in Vermillion and I want to get a clear picture of what it might have looked like back in 1810 before I write about it. I did an entire chapter out of sequence about her illness and I like the way it turned out. I needed a way for Lach to realize how much he loves her and figured what better way than to give her the worsr form of malaria and have her almost die on him. While my poor Sarah will never really recover (she'll be anemic for the rest of her life), she will prove that she's a true survior/

Mojave Rose is completly done :-).

Yippee!! Now all I have to do is work on my query letter and it'll be ready to go to Arabella. I got some really excellent suggestions on this one from my crit group and I think they paid off.

The Firelands Bride is comming along nicely too although I'm working on it a little bit out of sequence. I came up with an idea for a later chapter where Sarah, my herione, contracts malaria and nearly dies from it. Lach realizes how much he loves her while he's at her bedside caring for her. I love it. It turned out better than I imagined. I'm getting close to the scene now where they arrive in Vermillion. But I want to visit the city and get a lay of the land before I write the full scene. I'll be sure and take pictures when I make my trip and maybe even post them here.

I took PJ to the zoo yesterday with a friend we met in his playgroup. His name is Josh and he turned four in December.  Josh's mom, Pam is a very nice lady as well and has a zoo membership. They only have one car though so I told her that anytime she'd like to go just to give me a call and I'd provide the transportation. Next week I'm taking Pam, Josh, and PJ to Hunington Beach. Josh has never been to the beach so I'm sure he'll love it :-)
